My name is Elizabeth Crownover, but most people call me Liz. We attend Morrison Heights Baptist Church. We live on the outskirts of Raymond. I’ve been homeschooling my two children for almost 10 years and love planning fun events and activities for them and their friends. I host two monthly hangout groups—Youngins Time and Teen Girl Hangouts—and we’re also part of CHEC, a wonderful homeschool community full of connection and support. I’m starting a biology course for high schoolers to give them valuable lab experience they can include on their transcripts and give parents peace of mind with affordability. I’ve always wanted my oldest to take part in a lab before graduating, but the high costs just haven’t made it possible. My goal is to offer the same experience at the lowest price I can. I’m not doing this for money—most of my events have cost me out of pocket—but to help inspire and engage young minds.
Hope your high schooler can join us on this adventure.
This course will be a full two-semester course. We will begin in September and end in April.
The classes will take place every Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The cost for the entire course is $200 per student, which includes all supplies. There will be a couple of mini projects to work on between classes, but these won’t require any extra expenses. I’ll provide detailed instructions for each project in advance. The “homework” won’t need much supervision, and I’ll hold onto their folders to prevent them from getting lost. When there are extra assignments, I’ll send printouts home with them.
As far as payments, half ($100) must be paid upon signing up. You can scan the PayPal QR code for payment. Just list BIOLAB in the description when paying. You may go ahead and pay the full $200 if you can. If not, please have the second half paid by or on September 3rd, 2026.
COST FOR EACH STUDENT IS $200. (If you are signing up more than one student, please pay the half per student minimum.)

The website is almost complete. Give it a couple of days; if it is still not active, then try again.
www.lcbiologylab.com
This course will cover all the basics of biology as well as some advanced topics. Each class will have a minimum of one lab activity. There will be little lecturing and more of a hands-on learning experience. Each lesson will begin with a brief 5-10-minute discussion, followed by the day's labs.
Please arrive on time for each class. If you are consistently tardy, it could result in your dismissal from the course. Also, parents, students need to be picked up at 3 pm, not later. I will need to leave shortly after each time for archery and for Beta Club. (SPEAKING OF BETA: Beta meetings, I think, are to be held on Thursday afternoons at 3 once a month. On those days, you can leave early enough to get there on time.)
A breakdown of each lesson and lab is going to be listed on the website. Classes will be
September 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th
October 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th
November 5th, 12th
No classes the rest of November and December- CHRISTMAS PARTY DECEMBER 17TH-
January 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th
February 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th
March 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th
April 1st, 8th, 15th
END OF THE YEAR PARTY APRIL 22ND
50% of course payment is due upon sign-up. Course total for the year is $200. This payment will include all their worksheets and text binder, as well as all the necessary laboratory supplies. Payments can be sent through PayPal. I will attach the QR code to this email. PayPal email is lizcrown4@gmail.com (name says Luther Crownover-that's my husband)
If you don't use PayPal for any reason, just let me know, and we can figure something else out.
They will leave their binder with me at the end of every class to ensure it will be there for the next class. I will send printouts home when there is a planned activity to be done between classes. (I will supply the main items needed for those)
There will be 3 different papers to sign on September 3rd. Parents will need to sign 1 or 2 of them as well as the student. So parents, please arrive on time for the first class.
I will attach the safety form for you to read to/with your student to better prepare them for the class ahead.

Hey! It's hard to believe that it is already August, but here we are! Hope you had a fun and relaxing summer and are ready for a new, exciting school year! If you are still interested in our Biology Lab Course, 50% payment and sign-up are due by the 15th of this month. That way, I can get a class list made and order the supplies for the class. I can't order supplies until I know how many will be attending, to ensure I don't come out of pocket too much and don't order too much or too little.
Thank you, and look forward to seeing you soon.
Liz Crownover
Remember, the final half payment will be due on Sep 3rd, our first class. Also, we will have a short meeting at the beginning of that class to sign paperwork and have Q&A time.
